P.S. It turns out my skepticism is unfounded. Apparently sinus and ear bacterial infections are frequently caused by an initial viral infection. Also, if the bacteria is in the frontal sinus (where, admittedly, my pain seems to originate a lot of the time) there would be no snot issue. Just to let you know.... I guess this is my humble retraction. (Not that the drugs are helping. We'll see...!)
Also, Matt says I misquoted him—that he didn't say there's "no risk," just that the risk isn't that significant when the reaction to that specific antibiotic was a rash. Big difference he says. Therefore, another retraction.... Hehe. (My initial point still stands that he would have given me amoxicillin! :))
